{Hannah}: one year old!

It's been a YEAR since we welcomed Hannah into the world. It was a fast, scary birth, but once she arrived, she wrapped us around her little finger and we have been hooked since!

She was quick to crawl, and is already walking. She got her third tooth (top front right) this week, and we are waiting for the other one to come in. In the meantime, she's a cute snaggletooth!

She has started to let go of the items she pulls up on and walk on her own, but she still doesn't get very far just yet. We know one day she will just take off! She can go all the way up the stairs by herself, and isn't afraid of much. She is a climber: Hannah loves to climb onto chairs, the couch... nothing is safe!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, HANNAH! We love you, we are thankful that the Lord blessed us with you, and we love having the privilege of raising you and watching you grow.

Here is a first year slide show video!

{Hannah}: ten months old!

Two months from today, our girl will be one! Pretty unbelievable! She's becoming more confident in her cruising and has stood on her own for a couple of seconds, but I still think it'll be at least a month or two before she is confident enough to walk.

She is in to everything. She understands "no" and smiles when you tell her no! Especially when she's about to crawl into the bathroom or Ethan's room - which she knows she's not allowed to do! Hannah requires a ton of supervision, to say the least.

She took a spill by our media cabinet earlier this month. We didn't see exactly how she hit her mouth, but she got a big gash in her gum, and the bleeding prompted a trip to urgent care. I won't tell you how fast Austin drove!

Other than that, she has had a pretty routine month of climbing, crawling, eating, and napping!

Welcome Hannah Rosalie!

This has definitely taken me longer to post than I imagined it would! I've written two posts and Blogger managed to delete both... So here we are, one week old, third try is a charm!

Hannah's birth was amazingly easier than Ethan's - from delivery to recovery. I'm happy to share more of the story privately, but I will say my doctor almost didn't make it in time! My doctor's practice is connected to the hospital I delivered in, and she had to run across the hospital to get there -- that's how quickly we progressed at the end.

The two days at the hospital dragged on forever. The first night was torture because our recovery nurse - inadvertently - woke us up repeatedly when Hannah was asleep. It was awful, especially because she was a really nice person and I really struggled to be nice about the sleep! Ha! The second night was better but we were so tired from the first night that we look like zombies in our first family picture:

And while the reclining bed is awesome, it's also a little inconvenient, and being in a small room with little storage will make you crazy.

Ethan is warming up to Hannah and is generally concerned about her whereabouts, why she is crying (if she is) and wants to help us rock her (terrifying because he isn't gentle), get her car seat when we are getting into the car, and give (throw) her a pacifier if she is crying. So we need to work on being gentle, but overall, he cares about her and we think it's pretty sweet!

She's a calm, sleepy little sweetheart, a pretty good eater, and she does not have her days and nights backwards like her brother did, which is a bonus!

We are unbelievably blessed by her. We can't stop snuggling her, we love dressing her up every day, and we love her sweet demeanor! We can't wait to get to see her personality develop over the next few months!

And yes.. We are totally blown away that she is already a week old!

{Hannah}: six months old!

I'm a day late on this one, since Hannah was born on the 27th, but that suits my busy week well!

Hannah loves to sit, but still loses her balance and topples over. She's a regular Speedy Gonzalez in her walker, and she always aims for her brother. She was moving forward in the walker almost from the get-go. She has gotten her knees under her several times this week but I think it'll be a while before she realizes she can move if she also lifts up her arms (right now she just looks like she's trying to burrow herself in the carpet!).

We haven't started her on food yet and I'm in no rush to. Nursing has been pretty easy and feeding a baby with a spoon is a lot more work! We will probably start trying that around 7 months or when she demonstrates an ability to pick up her food and put it in her own mouth. With Ethan I was anxious to have him try all these different foods, we probably filmed it, and really... It was a lot of work, and a big mess.

I'll update this post next week with her stats!

Ethan is becoming an even better big brother every day. He's eager to police, poke, and play with Hannah, and he loves making her laugh!

{Hannah}: five months old!

Oh my goodness, this sweet girl! She amazes me every day. She wants to do so much. She's amazing in her walker, she loves trying to sit up, she gets very upset when she has to lay down for too long. She can't wait to play with brother! Sometimes Ethan agrees, but he does exercise some jealousy when Hannah starts to enter into his territory (toys).

Her chubby thighs compete with Ethan's is size - this girl does not miss meals! She's a sweet cuddly bug, who loves to smile and play!

Love this girl. She's determined, and bound to do big things!
