{Hannah}: 31 weeks + a sick brother

Well, this morning started with a scream. Ethan decided it was time to wake up at 6:30 (norm is 7-8, more 8 lately). Since it was still pretty dark, I did the usual: ignore. He started screaming and got out of bed so I went upstairs and was met with the smell of vomit. Yay! Happy Saturday! Austin came up, gave him a bath, and I went to work on the laundry/making the stench go away.
(In case you're wondering, Febreeze did nothing. My YL Purification oil is in the diffuser and that IS helping.) We took him downstairs and snuggled for about an hour before breakfast. He's had waffles and yogurt and kept that down - I was working on the assumption that the puke was a fluke and he was probably not sick this morning. We had two stinky, messy diapers since breakfast and now are waiting it out.

The last time he got super sick was Austin's birthday - almost a year ago. We had to cancel our birthday plans and take him home after he puked on his GiGi. So of course, it's fitting that we are supposed to visit with some of my dad's family today that I haven't seen in years and, he's doing this! Sigh...

This was from this morning, after the initial puke but before the the other messes.

And this is after the other messes.

I can say that Hannah did not enjoy this cuddle session and kicked every organ I have, making mama pretty nauseated, too.

He's now playing with cars, so there's hope for us yet! We are (maybe foolishly) hoping this was just something he ate, and not a full-on stomach bug.

This week, Hannah is the size of a foam finger (Or Cougar Paw, Go Coogs!!).

How far along? 31 weeks! ~9 to go!
Maternity clothes? Not currently, but most of the time, yes.
Stretch marks? None yet!
Sleep: Pretty good!
Miss anything? Sleep :)
Movement: Always!
Food cravings: None right now!
Anything making you queasy or sick? A little nausea from the iron pills, as well as Hannah's shenanigans this morning.
Gender: Girl!
Labor Signs: None
Belly Button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time? Mostly happy, tired right now!
Looking forward to: the dozen or so celebrations we have in the next 2 months that will keep us busy as we wait for Hannah! (Birthdays, weddings, gender reveal parties, bingo night, and a pumpkin patch trip!)
Prayers this week: praying for our health currently. Hoping that this is not a bug, and if it is, that Austin and I don't catch it.

{Hannah} 20 weeks!

We are halfway done!!! I would celebrate a little more excitedly, but Ethan gave me his cold so I'm not exactly a ball of fun today. We are going out to celebrate our anniversary tonight and Ethan's snotty self is going to GiGi's! The last time we tried to leave him with GiGi, it was Austin's birthday, Ethan was sick, and he puked when we got there. We spent the night at the ER in fear of dehydration, so, as long as he doesn't puke, we should be fine.... ;)

Austin just felt Hannah move for the first time! Probably a kick or a punch. She was moving around a lot while I was typing this so I pulled Austin over and he got to feel her move! So cool.

We're starting to actually look pregnant! Whoo hoo! Hannah is the size of an endive: 10" from head to toe, and about 10.5 ounces. We will have accurate measurements in two days after our ultrasound!!

How far along? 20 weeks!!!!!
Maternity clothes? Yes! I looove all my maternity clothes!
Stretch marks? None, I've been putting on Shea butter stretch mark cream almost daily to try to prevent it, like I did in my last pregnancy.
Sleep: I miss sleeping soundly. I wish there was a ZQuil for pregnant women!
Miss anything? Not having a cold
Movement: yes! Even Austin felt it!
Food cravings: those endives look pretty good...
Anything making you queasy or sick? Ethan. Ethan has made me sick.
Gender: little girl! With the cutest nursery ever! Can't wait to post pictures when Grandma finishes the bedding. She's going on vacation soon so it'll be a while!
Labor Signs: No!
Belly Button in or out? In!
Wedding rings on or off? Off - still at jeweler :(
Happy or Moody most of the time? Both. Usually crankier at night when I'm tired!
Looking forward to: date night tonight!! And an ultrasound on Monday!

getting over our first cold

We ended our streak of no baby sickness last week - at 5.5 months old, Ethan got his first cold! We think he caught it at church. He is a very strong baby, though, and after about 9 days of cold symptoms, we started to see relief! Today he is asymptomatic, aside from a few little boogies.

I got very little done while he was sick, because there was snuggling and healing to be done. I had to make sure he was propped up on his mattress, swaddled, warm, had his humidifier on, had his baby eucaliptis/spearmint rub on his chest and feet, and suck out more boogies than I care to recount. Do all babies hate that snot-sucking thing?

Since I'm not working from home, we've decided to transform the back office (4th bedroom in the back of the house) into a man cave for Austin (plus my sewing machine - so masculine) and make the would-be dining room - which is attached to the living room - Ethan's play space.

It's safe to say this little boy is without want.
He has never even touched half of those toys!

That play mat was $13.50 after a coupon at Garden Ridge! It helps keep Ethan off the carpet when he scoots, which is great because there's an endless supply of Bear hair in the carpet since he is shedding his winter coat.

Next on my list is painting all of our trim white, which I started when I recently painted the dining room and the entryway, beginning with the living room trim and then the kitchen, followed by the hallway, bedrooms, and then - finally - spraying all our doors! We all know how much I hate painting doors...

Happy to have a healthy baby boy again! And here's this gem, too - three generations of Haynes men!
